Have you ever put on your makeup only to find that in a couple hours it’s barely there? Well, I’m sure you’ve heard of setting sprays as almost all makeup lines tend to carry them, from high-end to drug store brands. But why buy when you can DIY?

Homemade products are great because you know exactly what ingredients are put into them, usually all natural which means they are safe and healthy, and they are much cheaper, too. So check our DIY Makeup Setting Spray here.

What You Need:

  • 3 Tablespoons Aloe Vera Gel
  • ½ Cup Purified Water
  • 2 Vitamin E Capsules
  • 4 Drops Argan Oil
  • Spray Bottle

What To Do:

First you need to get your fresh Aloe Vera gel. This is really easy. The first thing you have to do is cut some leaves from your plant.

(If you don’t have an aloe vera plant, I highly recommend that you get one. Not only is the gel used for a ton of great homemade beauty products, like this one for instance, but you it is great for your skin even all on its own. Definitely one of the best natural moisturizers there is PLUS, if you burn yourself in the kitchen, this is the perfect ointment for minor wounds. Plus, this plant is even the low maintenance kind. Yes!)

After you’ve collected enough leaves, then you can start to squeeze out the good stuff. To really get the most gel out of it, you can even cut the leaf lengthwise removing the “skin” and scrape out any left over gel with a spoon.

When you have about three tablespoons, add in your water. Take your vitamin E capsules, prick a hole in each, and squeeze out the good stuff once again. Add four drops of argan oil.

You can use a blender to really mix everything together. Move to a clean spray bottle and voila. You have your very own DIY makeup setting spray.

How To Use Makeup Setting Spray:

It’s really quite easy. In fact, when it comes to putting on make up, this is the easiest step.

Basically, once you’re done with your foundation, highlighter, blush, bronzer, shadows, lipstick, etc., to make your look last longer, as a final step, hold your DIY Makeup Setting Spray at arms length away from your face. Close your eyes and spritz away moving the bottle around to make sure it gets your whole face and neck as well. 3-5 times should be enough.

Once the mist lightly covers your face, try not to move too much to allow it to set your makeup in place. This will this keep your makeup from budging, but it will also keep it from looking cake-y as well.  And because of the natural ingredients used, not only will it give your skin this healthy look, it will actually MAKE your skin healthy leaving you with a nice dewy glow.  Let it dry down, which will only take a while, really, and then you’re good to go.
