Bug AWAYSpray

The long awaited long weekend is almost here. You’ve probably already got your 4th of July plans all set, and whether it’s a good old fashioned barbeque at home or if you’re planning to hit the road, no matter how you’ve decided to spend your free time, be it with family, or friends, or even both, the tradition of watching fireworks is definitely a must.

If you plan to do so outdoors, which is the ideal way to enjoy any fireworks, after all (which is by far better than on any TV screen, of course,), then another must is this Fourth Of July Essential: Homemade Bug Away Spray.

This simple mixture is safe, chemical-free, and effective at keeping those unwanted pests away and itching and scratching at bay. Even better, it will only take about five minutes to make. Interested? Instructions and ingredients below.

What You Need:

  • 1 Clean Spray Bottle
  • 1 Tablespoon Rubbing Alcohol
  • ½ Cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Witch Hazel
  • 20 Drops Citronella Oil
  • 20 Drops Lemongrass Oil
  • 20 Drops Prickly Pear Oil

Not sure where to get Prickly Pear Oil? Well, you can get our very own BeYouthful one here– 100% pure, unrefined, and free from parabens.

What To Do:

The hardest part about this recipe is probably getting all of your ingredients together. The good news is is that once you have them, you can find many other uses for them as well. We’ve got tons of homemade safe and natural recipes right here at BeYouthful that you can always refer to.

Anyway, once you have everything you need, all there is left to do is to pour everything into your clean spray bottle and then shake, and shake, and shake some more. You want to make sure that everything blends together. Then you are done. You now have your very own Fourth Of July Essential: Homemade Bug Away Spray.

Shake before use. Spray generously all over and follow up with a good rub. Be sure, though, to keep away from eyes.

Happy 4th of July!!!
