National Lipstick Day is just around the corner. So it’s best you have your pucker ready in perfect condition. After all, even the best, most flattering color in the world won’t be able to cover up dry and chapped lips. That is why it is absolutely essential for you to exfoliate your lips as well (followed by a good moisturizer, too.)
When it comes right down to homemade lip scrubs, you’ve probably already tried and tested the more traditional sugar based kinds, which are also very good and very effective. In fact, if you’re interested, here is a quick link to our own take on it.
But for our more sensitive sisters out there, sugar or salt may seem a bit too abrasive. So for a softer touch that still gets the exfoliating job done, check out this homemade creamy lip scrub. Yes. CREAMY.
Ingredients and instructions below:
What You Need:
- 1 Teaspoon Yogurt
- 1 Teaspoon Honey
- 1 ½ Teaspoons Finely Ground Oatmeal
What To Do:
Simple enough, just mix everything in a bowl. And you are done. Once you have your homemade creamy lip scrub, just take some with your fingers and rub onto your lips in a gentle, circular motion. Do focus on any dry or chapped areas. This will only take about a minute or two. So keep on rubbing.
When done, although edible, it best to rinse off with warm water. And of course, as mentioned earlier, follow up with a good moisturizing lip balm.
Speaking of moisturizing your lips, oils are one of the best. Coconut, Olive, and Argan are my personal top three.
