The beach life, with proper protection, of course, can definitely have some great effects on your skin- because nothing quite makes it softer and smoother than the surf and sand – two of nature’s best exfoliators.
However, not all of us live by the sea. But that shouldn’t stop you from sloughing off those dead skin cells that can dull your tone and make you look older than you are. The good news? You can make your own sea salt scrub to use right at home, no matter how far away the ocean may be.
What makes it even better is that you only need 3 ingredients, and unlike what you get from the beach, one of them is actually very moisturizing. Interested? Ingredients and instructions below:
What You Need:
- 1Cup Sea Salt
- ½ Cup Coconut Oil (melted, in liquid form)
- 5 Drops of the Essential Oil of your choice (citrus/grapefruit are my faves for this creation)
What To Do:
Gathering all the ingredients is probably the hardest part. Now that that’s over, it’s just really a matter of mixing. Get a clean container with a tight lid—mason jars are actually perfect for this, just make sure your container is clean and dry. Then simply pour in the salt. Next, pour in the coconut oil.
- In cold places, coconut oil tends to harden up quite a bit. No worries, all you have to do is pop some in the microwave for a couple of seconds and it will melt right away into it’s liquid form.
Once the coconut oil is in, simply add your essential oil/oils. Mix until everything is pretty much mashed together. Done. Seal and store. Keep until ready for use.
