What You Need:
For the Wax:
- I Cup Honey
- I Cup Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Lemon Juice
- Glass Jar
- Baby Powder
- Popsicle Stick
- Fabric Strips
How To Make Homemade Hair Removal Wax:
You start by melting the sugar. So basically, you take a saucepan and you add your sugar. Keep the flame at medium high. Not need to constantly steer. Maybe just a swirl or two every so often until it is caramelized. Turn off the heat.
Then add in your honey and lemon juice. This is where you stir and stir until everything is blended together. Be careful, even when taken out from the flame, this SUGAR IS VERY VERY HOT.
If you feel as if the mixture is a bit too thick, you can always add in a teaspoon of water. Let it cool a bit and then you can move it to a glass jar so that you can store whatever you don’t use.
TIP: When storing, keep in the fridge.
How To Apply:
So now that you have your very own homemade hair removal wax, let’s take a look at how to actually use it. First step, you want to prep your skin. This is where the baby powder comes in. Lightly dust the area you want to wax with baby powder. You can gently spread it over your skin with your hand. This will help absorb any oil or moisture that may keep hair from coming off.
Next take some of your homemade hair removal wax with a popsicle stick and apply over the area that you just prepped. Then place a fabric strip over and gently rub it on.
TIP: When applying, follow the way in which your hair grows, this is for both the wax and the fabric strip.
Let the wax cool a bit.
Finally, let it rip. Pull the strip off your skin but this time do so against the direction your hair grows.
