It’s been a pretty busy week for Taylor Swift. Not only did she win the MTV MVA for Best Collaboration with ZAYN and their hit I Don’t Want To Live Forever, but she also launched her latest single, Look What You Made Me Do, which is already number one on trending and is clearly on its way to the top.
But despite the hustle and bustle, the glitz and the glam, when it comes to taking care of her skin, which she obviously does a really good job at, you’d be surprised at what one of Taylor Swifts Natural Skincare go-tos is– The Body Shop’s Coconut Body Butter.
Squad goals, and skin goals as some might say.
After all, you’ve probably heard it before: Dry skin is a sin and is the root of all wrinkles. The main ingredient of natural moisturizer is none other than pure organic cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. Despite its simple makeup, not to mention a really affordable price tag, too, Taylor Swift says that it is…
“Decadent and luxurious. I love that it makes me feel like I’m on a tropical island.”
Now, it is fairly easy to get your hands on some yourself, but if you’re up to the task and feeling a bit crafty, then you can even go ahead and make your own version
What You Need:
- 5 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
- ¼ Cup Cacao Butter
- 3 Capsules of Vitamin E
- ¼ Teaspoon Lemon Essential Oil
- 5-7 Drops Argan Oil
What To Do:
The first thing you wanna do is melt your coconut oil and your cacao butter. Over a low flame, put both ingredients in a pan and mix till melted. Cut open your Vitamin E capsules and squeeze out the good stuff. Add it the mix along with the lemon essential oil and the argan oil. The whip away to make sure that everything blends in well. Move the mixture to a clean container with a cover that you can seal tightly. An old glass jar would do nice.
Although it takes about 15 minutes to prepare, it takes a couple hours for it to solidify. It may not look like much at first, not at all like body butter you’ve seen before, but once it does solidify, it becomes thick and creamy. To speed up the long wait, you can pop it in the fridge.
Generously apply after a bath (or just about any time you feel like it) focusing on areas that need it most. Your skin will feel softer and smell sweeter in an instant.
